Hi, I’m Kim, a.k.a. Ralfie. I’m so happy you are here! There are so many blogs out there, and it thrills me that you are taking the time to check out mine. I created Reflections by Ralfie to share my stories with you.
What makes me so special? Nothing. And that’s exactly why I think you should stick around to see what I have to say. I am not rich, famous, an expert or an influencer. I’m an ordinary woman reflecting about life and want to connect with others. Perhaps my recollections will cause you to ponder about your experiences.
Family – my family is so important to me! I have three married children, two sons and one daughter. I also have two grandsons, who are the light of my life.
I am a recent widow but spent nearly 49 years with the man I love by my side. I am still learning how to cope with his loss, and I hope journaling will help me heal by letting others get to know him through my writing.

Hobbies – I enjoy writing, reading, painting with watercolors, photography, crafting, home decorating, gardening cooking, travel, and eating! I love spending time outdoors in the sunshine.
Past things I’ve enjoyed are snow skiing, biking, horseback riding and swimming. Unfortunately, my knees don’t want to cooperate with me as I get older. I have given up skiing altogether. I want to get a bike soon for some gentle exercise, and I try to get on a horse every year or two for a trail ride. I do still get in the water frequently, but I do it mostly for exercise and am not a strong swimmer.
My Day Job – I work as an Executive Assistant in a Fortune 500 company. The culture is wonderful – they truly live by their core values. My teammates are my second family, and I am proud to be a part of what we refer to as “The Village.”
My resume also includes some part-time retail work, being a server at a wedding venue,,and bartending,
France – In 2012, Greg and I sold a lot of our belongings, packed up the rest and moved to the French countryside to retire. Many people envy this part of our life, and I can understand why as it was pretty incredible. Several comment about how they wish they could do something like that. I’m here to tell you it can be done! A lot of planning is required, but I would encourage anyone who is interested in moving to Europe to do it, and do it soon.
You will hear a lot more about the five years we lived in France.
